Ever since we changed our name from NHEMA, the New Hampshire Educational Media Association, to NHSLMA, The New Hampshire School Library Media Association, we’ve been yearning for a new look to help us convey what that name change means to us. We’re librarians, and librarians are perfectly positioned to guide students into 21st century leadership by shaping the ways they gather and use information and fostering a desire for life long learning. We use all tools available — books included! — to build information literacy skills in students so their learning extends beyond the classroom and they use media in a way that is responsible, safe and ethical. Our new logo is a tool to help us convey all of that to the world.
We want to thank Rumbletree not just for the creation of this logo, but for guiding us through a thoughtful process that allowed us to really examine how we put forth a message, a brand if you will, about ourselves and what we do as librarians in schools. Their support and generosity made this process meaningful and we look forward to implementing what we’ve learned.
